The Who?

My name is Tristin Muir and I love photographing the world around me. My mom is a huge influence in me becoming a photographer, I remember sitting on the floor of her studio watching her photograph portraits. I remember helping her set up lights and backdrops in our home for our makeshift studio.

I have grown to have a more photojournalistic approach to my photography wanting to tell stories through the day to day life around me. Weddings allow me to express this easiest because I am able to document the wedding as it unfolds and tell the story of love between a couple.

The What?

Car Photography would be what started it all. There was nothing better than an old Japanese car lowered and on some beautiful wheels. I would take my cars to different parking lots to get as many different angles and as many different angles as I could just to post on Instagram.

At the time I was working at Discount Tire so a lot of my friends had cars they were very proud of so I would photograph their cars just for fun. My favorite car to photograph will forever be my 1990 Honda Prelude.

The When?

When photography swapped from a fun hobby I wished I could turn into a job was actually in 2026! I had found a love for photographing portraits and a dislike for corporate sales.

I started photographing engagements and elopements at the Middleton Venue in Katy Texas. The owner is a friend of mine from High-School and she gave me a chance to start building my portfolio and start my business off in front of the customers I wanted to serve.

The Where?

I love photographing nature when I am not capturing a couple’s special day. I love photographing birds and seeing them interact with other animals and their environment. I will photograph any bird I see in the wild and get disappointed if I see a beautiful bird and I don’t have a camera with me.

Photographing birds with my wife has helped me learn to slow down and look really think about the best perspective for a photo. It was eye opening to be able to be this close to a duck and still be very close to the Houston area. You may see my wife and I walking a park nearby trying to photo our next duck photoshoot.

The Why?

There is nothing I will enjoy more than seeing the genuine love between couple’s on their wedding day. Seeing the uncontrollable smile form just from asking a couple to lock eyes and take a moment on their day to really see their significant other.

I love hearing feedback from my couple’s and hearing how much their family loves the photos. Having someone look over their photos a few months later and reaching back out to tell me they keep looking through the photos and how much they love the photos and can’t get over how amazing they are. Hearing a couple tell me these are the only photos they have loved of themselves is what makes wedding photography amazing.
